After a long winter and months of darkness, the brightest day of the year is celebrated like no other day in Sweden. Families and friends gather around a flower decorated may pole to dance, sing, eat herring and drink flavored schnaps. This magical day is so important to swedes and the Swedish culture that it has become a national holiday.
